(If DNA is also counted as identity data)

2 Donation Boxes that I will Never Forget

Apart from all those boring and stereotyped donation boxes, this is a cool huge transparent donation box for child literacy. It is the meaning that lies behind  this “Literacy needs a Lift” donation box that makes it stand out of the crowd. Have a look closer, you will find out that the “Literacy” donation box itself, is already a literature, a great metaphor.

Asking for literacy donation, you start with literature. Looking for blood donation, you begin with blood. This ”Money Isn’t Everything” is indeed another impressive blood donation box by Australian.

How Engineers Rewrite Economics Theories

Started with the first assembly line of car manufacturing in the world by Ford, engineers had given solid grounds for the theory of Division of Labor.  After that, the discovery of Nuclear Energy, had challenged the demand inelasticity of  traditional fossil fuel energy in generating electricity. And now, our promising engineers are going to rectify the theory of Imperfect Information as one of the main causes of market failure in Economics.

mySupermarket is a brand new UK web site, that allows you to pick out items, and compare the prices for that shopping cart full of food between the four major online supermarket chains in the UK. Once you’ve finished shopping, pick the lowest-priced store, and with a single click at mySupermarket, it will send your order to that supermarket’s website for online checkout.

With this kind of fierce competition, pricing goods at a few cents higher, aiming to price discriminate those less-informed costumers,  can kill your supermarket’s sale dramatically. I think this is, so far, the best way to promote competitiveness and to achieve information symmetry in supermarket industry.

What’s next? I think the next noteworthy technology breakthrough, will be the discovery of new human-livable planets. And which theory  it is going to rectify? I think if it’s achieved, we can burn away all our Economics books. It’s because the discovery of new livable planets, eradicates the very fundamental of Economics– the scarcity of resources

This Bra is saving the World

This bra is officially called No! Shopping-Bag Bra, designed by Triumph, Japan. It is designed to reduce the usage of shopping bags. Due to its nature of extremely long bio-degradation period, shopping bag is one of the most environmental harmful garbage which is massively produced and consumed in urban living.

And here comes the bra that is going to save the world! Dubbed the No! Shopping-Bag Bra , this lacy red undergarment has padded cups that when removed, can be transformed into shopping bags. Have a look at the bra transformation below.

Transformed, you will have your environmental friendly shopping bag to carry around your groceries, laundry, and magazines. Looking at the girl above with groceries, I’m even more convinced that this invention is a brilliant one. Why?

Think about it :

Larger size undergarments = Larger size shopping bag

Larger size shopping bag = More space for Groceries

More space for Groceries = More Food Consumption

More Food consumption = Larger size body

Larger size body = Larger size undergarments.

On the other hand, this flow works for “smaller size”  version too. However, for those high metabolism rate skinny girls that eat a lot,  I think they are wearing two bra, and therefore, 2 shopping bags. Hahaha, post me comment and tell me what you think.

The New Yorker that sells garbage

We always say United States is the land of opportunity. There are success stories in each and every corner in the city. Today, I would like to introduce you a guy called Justin Gignacwho sells garbage of New York City. Yes, he sells GARBAGE to all people around the world!

Putting New York City trash into clear plastic cases, signed and dated, he is selling each finest select pieces of “garbage” for US Dollar $50. You may think that he is ridiculous, but he has sold more than 700 boxes of those “garbage”. And frankly, I would like to have one also. If you really can’t stand this kind of crap, at least his business is really doing the city a favor, he is cleaning up the streets of New York City.

In United States, we have witness so many business miracles and have heard so many inspirational true stories about how those determined people have turned “Impossible” into “I’m Possible”.

A few decades ago, there was a six years old boy that purchased 6-packs of Coca Cola from his grandfather’s grocery store for twenty five cents and resold each of the bottles for a nickel, pocketing a five cent profit. His business instinct has made him the second richest person in the world. He is Warren Buffett.

A few years ago, there were two guys, Larry Page and Sergey Brin that started a search engine in their garage in Menlo Park, California. It has turned into the billion-dollar business today, the Google.

Now, I sincerely wish that Justin Gignac, this garbage seller, will become the next millionaire in New York City. Even this garbage business doesn’t bring him there, his attitude will.

*For Justin Gignac’s website, it’s here.

*For further details about Warren Buffett, you can read my previous post, it’s here.
