It Ends Tonight (Part 2)

Tomorrow, I’m going to IDP to pay Melbourne University year 1 tuition fee, in order to do the acceptance of offer. After that, the possibility of turning back, is very unlikely. My old age parents dislike shaky decision. If I have any change of mind, it is NOW, or NEVER.

For all the possible choices revealed from Australia and UK (some are still in pending mode) I’m actually in a serious dilemma. I hope I really didn’t choose wrong. I hope I will not regret in future, I really hope.

This is my UCAS online track, it shows the decision of UK universities that I applied.

Out of 6 choices,
3 are conditionally accepted (since I haven’t finish A Levels),
3 of them are still under consideration by the regarding authorities.

Times Good University Guide is a quite helpful site for UK school applicants, the link is here.

Lancaster University, rank 8 for business studies in UK,
by Times Good University Guide (Business Studies).

Manchester University, rank 10 for Business Studies in UK,

by Times Good University Guide ( Business Studies).

Essex University, rank 10 for Economics in UK,

by Times Good University Guide (Economics).

Subsequently, an unconditional offer from

University of Melbourne, the school that I have bet my future in.

Australia National University, rank 1 in Australia.

Still with me? Wow! seems you are free, ok lets you see what I did when I were free.

Monash University, application fees waived in IDP education fair, hence I applied for fun.

University of Queensland, yet another “for fun” application.

See? Most offers are still conditional, which means I should work hard by now.

Oh My god, I wasted so much time in doing this stupid post, bye bye!

Jason’s Blog: It Ends Tonight

Started since 14 October, today is Jason’s Blog 2 months old birthday.

Also, my final A Level exam is starting in 11 January 2007, just less than 1 month away. Therefore,  I would like to tell you that Jason’s Blog is going to have a pretty long year end holiday. Don’t ask when it will be back, because I really don’t know. But I promise, when Jason’s Blog is back, it is going to come back with better things, a lot better.

“This is not the end. This is not even the beginning of the end. Perhaps, this is the end of the beginning.”

And now, I would like to dedicate a song to Jason’s Blog,

a song that I love so much,

which is meant for Jason’s Blog tonight.

“It Ends Tonight”, by THE All American Rejects.

Good Bye and Good Night.

Ya, since I won’t be around, wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too!

For RSS Readers the video is here.

Edexcel A Levels Exam says "No Christmas"

While the whole nation is having year end holiday, celebrating Christmas, and partying 2007 Count Down,  Edexcel, the London A Levels Exam awarding body, cruelly says “NO” to each and every A Levels Exam candidate.

The photo above is my exam docket, you can clearly see my exam is starting on 11 January till 26 January 07.

I really hope that I were living in Mars, the Earth, the whole planet is just too distracting, too “holiday-mood”.

Malaysian MV "thanks" Indonesia for the Haze

Here are some screenshots, before you watch one of the best Malaysian Made music video.

Haze is a very common thing to Malaysian and Singaporean. Due to the “accidental” and “intentional” burning of Indonesia’s farms and jungles, Malaysians suffer from haze at least once a year.

Indonesian farmers tend to clean their farms, estates or agricultural fields, with nothing but fire. Burning is still the cheapest way to clean a huge piece of agricultural land.

The following music video has fully expressed Malaysian appreciation towards Indonesia for their smart yet economical farming method.  This music video is prepared by MC HOU, MC Y, THEY, SILENT KEAT, and DJ HANZ,  in both Malay Language and Cantonese.

Thanks Indonesia, we are glad and honored  to be your close neighbor.

For RSS Readers the video is here.

Scissor+ Scissor = Shredder Hand

Nowadays, some useless rubbish might be your deadliest mistake, and it turns out to be  the most valuable things to identity theft.

I think Shredder Hand works well with bills, receipts, tickets, photos, letters, and perhaps, your hair too.
(If DNA is also counted as identity data)

Buy one of this, if you have nothing better to do.
It is currently sold for $ 15.37 in core77.com .

"It’s Lonely At the Top" by TIME Magazine

A photo is worth a thousand words.

I love the photo above very much. It’s published in TIME magazine on 6th November 06.

“It’s lonely at the top” doesn’t only apply to George Bush, the president of United States, but also to each and every one in our lives.

Behind limelight, excellency, success, and legend, there are always people leading an extraordinary life, making tough choices and painful sacrifices.  It is not just a question of ability, but also a question of priority. It is like asking you: “what weights the most in your life?”

The sad fact is that,
we can’t have everything in life;
However, we are glad to admit that,
in order to be happy, we don’t need to have everything.

EA, one of the Best Workplaces in the World

Electronic Arts (EA) is an American computer and video games developer. In the following video,  Amanda MacKay of GT will tell you why people love to work in EA Los Angeles Headquarter, by having a grand tour in this EA cool and awesome “workplace”.

In short, what EA Los Angeles branch has?

  • Basketball Court
  • Sand Volley Ball
  • Soccer Field
  • Gym
  • Cafeteria
  • Pool
  • Game Room
  • and a lot more….

People always say that hardcore gamer has no life; but I think hardcore game developer do lead a great life in EA.

To my Cambridge University blog readers :

Recently, I have written a post talking about Malaysia’s Government newly proposed RM 500 Million donation to Cambridge UniversityThe post was far spread, and surprisingly, some of my readers, were from Cambridge University.
(For oversea readers, $1= RM 3.6 +-0.1)

Have a look at the images, those are visitor data for some of them. Due to piracy matter, I have erased the IP Address and also the Host, but you can see clearly the Internet Service Provider (ISP) is written “University of Cambridge”.

Was that a student? a worker? Or the CEO that can’t wait to confirm the Malaysia’s extremely GENEROUS donation to his school? Based on “Referring” data, the aforementioned person seem impatient and had used Google to search for further details about the donation.

I bet he was laughing after knowing that a small country in Asia is trying to “buy” its way to Cambridge University. Comparing his country and mine, Malaysia is nothing, both in term of economy strength and academic achievement.

To those smart guys in University of Cambridge, you all might wonder why Malaysia government is so determined to donate to an extremely well established university in a rich developed country, while Malaysia itself is actually absolutely far worse off.

This is because, some governments in this world, they prefer to admit they are stupid through a so-called “elegant silence” and continue their plan, rather than admitting they are wrong, and stop the plan.

Maybe my friend, Hao Shaun, is correct: “In this world, we need some people to act dumb, in order to make others look good.” And perhaps that’s why, you all the smart guys, are studying or working in University of Cambridge, while most of us aren’t.

The 3D Chinese Vase Puzzle

Bored of 2D stereotypical puzzle? This new cool 3D Chinese vase puzzle challenges each and every perception you had about puzzles. To kids, don’t try to make one at home. They hurt, both the sharp edge and your mom’s scolding.
